SuperBowl Commercials
Hands down my favorite commercial for the 2015 Super Bowl was Like A Girl. This commercial shows how overtime society makes it seem like doing things "Like a Girl" is doing things weakly and very clumsy. But, there is young girls who when you ask them to do things like a girl they run fast, hit hard, and do it with heart. I loved this commercial because I am a mother of a little girl and I never want her to grow up thinking that doing things like a girl is bad. I want her to think about doing things like herself, being strong and intense, and doing everything with heart is doing things like a girl! This commercial made me sad to think that young boys and even teenage girls think like this. But, it did give me hope that our younger generations know that doing things like a girl isn't a bad thing, it means being strong.

I feel like Always was told the story in a great way! There is many commercials and ads that are feminine products like pads and tampons that make girls and women seem delicate and perfect, as if they are from another planet! These other commercials and print ads kind of idealize the time of month as something easy, it is as they're telling women, "Get over it and get up, you're just on your period". But, Always told a story that would reach everyone not just women, they used young women and young boys to tell the story of how our society belittles all girls abilities, they show how people think of women and don't see an athlete, they see women and they think of house wives! Even little girls are put in a box because they have to grow up and be these beautiful delicate flowers than will one day find the man of her dreams, instead of showing these young girls that they can do everything a boy can do and even better!
This commercial does have a happy ending, girls who know what it means to actually do something like a girl. They are opening societies eyes to what its like to do this like a girl means!

I believe it was smart for Always to run this commercial during the Super Bowl because it was estimated that there was 113 million viewers. There is so many people who watch this, moms, dads, daughters, and sons. So it was perfect way to pull on heart strings to change the way people view doing things like a girl. I believe this is going to open more doors to help other companies empower not just adult women but young girls growing up in todays generation. Our future women who could run it all, as long as they remember to do things like a girl, of course.
